The following is an update of where we are at in the process to publish the proposed aquatic plant management rule.
Our tentative target date for publishing the proposed aquatic plant management rules in the State Register is September 22. Since we are certain of going to public hearing, we decided to publish a notice of hearing rather than a notice of intent to adopt rules. This makes the hearings automatic meaning we do not have to get at least 25 requests from the public in order to have a hearing. You will all get a copy of the notice and proposed rules shortly after they are published in the State Register. The notice will contain instructions on how to submit written comments to the administrative law judge.
The tentative hearing dates and locations are:
Monday, November 3, U of M Southern Research Station and Outreach Center, 35838 120th Street, Waseca
Wednesday, November 5, Camp Ripley, Education Center
Thursday, November 6, Bigwood Event Center, 921 Western Ave, Fergus Falls
Friday November 7, Days Inn Maplewood Hotel and Conference Center, 3030 Southlawn Drive, Maplewood
The hearing times are 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
